Michael Connelly was born on 21 July 1956, in Philadelphia and raised since she was 11 years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Hales is a large family with him is the son major. Michael's father was a property developer and his mother a homemaker. Michael says his parents encouraged all children to succeed.
Paul's mother she loved reading, especially mysteries. He read some of his books as a child before finding yours. Michael says he likes the most difficult mysteries. Michael studied University of Florida, where he majored in journalism with a minor in creative writing. It was there that while he found the works of Raymond Chandler.
Michael married Linda McCaleb in April 1984. They have a daughter, Callie. Michael says he feels that since having a child, became a better writer because he has become a better person. Michael has been postponed for about 13 years covering the courts and the police beat. He said he believes this quest he began to write fiction.
Michael moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1987 when one of the stories by Michael Connelly was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and attracted the attention of Los Angeles Times. Michael said that it was a secret hope that her "… because the most influential writers of novels, at least for me, all commented on Los Angeles or Southern California. The place has a certain interest to readers. "
In 1995, Michael came out of their performance and full-time reports focused on his novelistic career. He said most prefer the novels of other genres. It has, for example, is not writing science fiction or general fiction. It wrote what he likes to read. You write what comes from within.
In 2001 Michael and his family moved to Los Angeles to Florida to be closer their families. Although now working in "creative memory", Michael said that a repeat visit. Meanwhile, he said he tries to read what comes out of Los Angeles.
A few years ago at a journalism conference Michael said, "you scratch a journalist and you're an aspiring novelist … It is a natural extension of employment, because the novels are many reports and the truth. You need to experience the world to write. "
