I do not know if your unit has a points system or the beginning of magneto ignition switch and see if there is power if not, turn the ignition switch and follow the hot wire to the coil or magnet and check there if the energy coming in and nothing comes out you can suspect the coil or the magnet system has a (usually low the steering wheel), which is where you go next attempt to run this test a bridge to the positive side of the coil and see if it lights up, if you probably have only a break in the circuit or from the ignition switch be sure to check online at any fuses
