What is a variety and a fuel injector and what they do?
I have 1991 Nissan Maxima and the mechanic said that these must be changed. How much cost and how long Can I use the car before it breaks completely (at this point is simply moving and making a 'tractor'-like sound).
There are actually two varieties in its motor, an intake and exhaust manifold. Given the additional details it offers, I will assume you are talking on the intake manifold. The intake manifold is a collection of pipes that carry fuel and air mixture in each of the six cylinders in their Maxima. (Whereas than the exhaust manifold is also a series of pipes that carry exhaust gases from each cylinder into the exhaust system.) The fuel injection system is a device electronic control for fuel-air mixture in the proper proportions for combustion and spraying a fine mist of improving the quality of the burn in each cylinder when a spark is provided by the plug. This fuel / air is then distributed to each cylinder by the intake manifold. That said, it is quite rare for a manifold in a Maxima to fail. As most of them are metal and molten metal often, indeed, the failure would only come from being cracked or deformed from a serious overheating. I would rather suspect that being the case in his car. fuel injectors, on the other hand often get blocked but can be cleaned with a fuel injection cleaner products as one of the BG. When dirty they do not spray the fine mist required for good combustion and the car will run raw. Sometimes injecting either, but I would try a thorough cleaning before I drew this conclusion.
